Round 12: Fubon Braves lose to Singapore Slingers

The most important game in the last round took place in Singapore between second ranked Taiwanese Fubon Braves (9-6) and sixth ranked Singapore Singapore Slingers (6-6) on Sunday night. Fubon Braves were defeated by Singapore Slingers in a tough game on the road 99-106. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fubon Braves. It was a great shooting night for Singapore Slingers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.9 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Fubon Braves helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard Xavier Alexander (198-88, college: S.Nazarene) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. The other American import guard Marcus Elliott (191-84, college: Louisiana Tech) contributed with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Costa Rican-Belizean forward Charles Garcia (208-88, college: Seattle) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for Fubon Braves. Singapore Slingers maintains sixth position with 6-6 record. Fubon Braves at the other side dropped to the third place with six games lost. Singapore Slingers are looking forward to face WM Dragons (#7) in Kuala Lumpur in the next round. Fubon Braves will play on the road against the league's leader Mono Vampire (#1) in Bangkok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 12 bottom-ranked Saigon H. was beaten by Alab Pilipinas on the road 82-75.
The most impressive performance of 12th round was 26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals by Nick King of Alab Pilipinas.

Alab Pilipinas - Saigon H. 82-75

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Filipino Alab Pilipinas (9-5) beat bottom-ranked Vietnamese Saigon Heat (3-10) in Manila 82-75 on Sunday. Alab Pilipinas outrebounded Saigon Heat 54-42 including a 44-33 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. It was a good game for American forward Nick King (201-95, college: MTSU) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. American-Filipino point guard Jason Brickman (181-91, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 5 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. Alab Pilipinas' coach used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Sam Thompson (201-92, college: Ohio St., agency: Pensack Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Tyshawn Taylor (191-90, college: Kansas) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Saigon Heat. Alab Pilipinas have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending Filipino champion moved-up to second place. Loser Saigon Heat stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Alab Pilipinas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saigon Heat will play at home against Hong Kong ELL (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
